  Venezuelan opposition leader in Argentina threatened by Caracas' regime

  

  Venezuelan Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello —deemed to be the “number two” of Nicolás Maduro's socialist regime— launched a veiled threat against exiled activist Elisa Trotta Gamus, accusing her of conspiring with Israel against the Chavista leadership. Argentine security authorities are now reviewing her protection detail.

  Argentina recognizes Guaidó's ambassador as Venezuelan government representative

  

  Elisa Trotta is the new Venezuelan ambassador in Argentina, following the acceptance of her Credentials by Argentine foreign minister Jorge Faurie. According to an Argentine foreign ministry release, Ms Trotta will make her official presentation to president Mauricio Macri sometime this week.

  Argentina reiterated its support for Venezuela’s opposition leader Friday by issuing diplomatic credentials to a new delegate and officially announcing its withdrawal from the regional UNASUR bloc, which has been criticized over its lack of action on Venezuela.
