  Falklands sends more firefighters and FIDF to combat fire at Sea Lion Island

  

  Falkland Islands firefighters continued to fight the fire at Sea Lion island over the weekend. On Monday 11 March additional firefighters have been sent to Sea Lion Island to provide further support. Members of the FIDF, Falkland Islands Defense Force, are also being sent out to provide logistic support for the firefighters.

  Ex head of Falkland Islands Defense Force becomes member OBE

  

  In the New Year Honors 2024 Overseas and International List, among those who became members of the Order of the British Empire, OBE, is a Falkland Islander, who for many years served with the Falkland Islands Defense Force, FIDF, and lately as Commanding Officer of the force.

  FIDF members rehearsing in London, next to Commonwealth and UK soldiers for the Coronation

  

  Members of the Falkland Islands Defense Force especially invited to participate in the coming Coronation of King Charles III are already in London and have been training daily alongside Commonwealth and UK soldiers.
