  IAPA warns about risks of commission against disinformation in Chile

  

  The Inter-American Press Association (IAPA) insisted that the creation of a commission against disinformation in Chile as promoted by the administration of President Gabriel Boric Font could open the door to sheer censorship. In response, the Chilean government invited IAPA to participate in a Senate committee discussing the issue, it was reported in Santiago.

  Transparency International blasts Brazilian Justice for violating freedom of expression

  

  A decision by Brazil’s Supreme Federal Court (STF) to demand the suppression of a media report concerning one of the court’s sitting judges violates the freedom of the press, warns Transparency International Brazil. The demand to remove the report from the internet is unacceptable, risks the international image of Brazil and goes against fundamental principles of the democratic rule of law.

  Venezuela: Journalists arrested and deported complied with accreditations

  

  The National Union of Workers of the Press (SNTP) of Venezuela reported that reporters from the Spanish international agency EFE who were detained by the National Intelligence Service (SEBIN) in Caracas will be deported despite fulfilling the necessary papers to carry out his journalistic work.
