    Guyana, US, Peru and Uruguay consent to OAS visits on anti-corruption

    The four countries notified the MESICIC for conducting on-site visits. They also consented to and received on-site visits during the Fourth Round of Review.

    The governments of Guyana, the United States, Peru and Uruguay confirmed this week to the General Secretariat of the Organization of American States (OAS) their consent to receive on site visits as part of the Fifth Round of the Mechanism for Follow-up on the Implementation of the Inter-American Convention against Corruption (MESICIC) of the OAS.

    OAS: “The fight against corruption does not rest solely on public authorities”

    Secretary General Insulza said that ”we must jointly tackle this problem that affects us all and that we must all work together to solve.”

    The Organization of American States (OAS), Secretary General, José Miguel Insulza, celebrated International Anti-Corruption Day (December 9) calling on the international community to reaffirm their commitment to fight corruption and to “jointly tackle this problem that affects us all and that we must all work together to solve.”

    Inter-American convention against corruption analyzes six countries

    The OAS process will continue with “on site” visits next April

    The Organization of American States (OAS) has begun the process of analyzing a new group of countries - Chile, Colombia, Guatemala, Panama, Uruguay, and Venezuela - as part of the Fourth Round of the Mechanism for Follow-Up on the Implementation of the Inter-American Convention against Corruption (MESICIC) of the OAS.
