  UK Trade secretary tells WTO conference, “Britain is back” as a sovereign nation

  

  Britain is looking forward to “taking back control” of its trade policy after it exits the European Union later this month, a government minister told the World Trade Organization on Wednesday. Speaking at a WTO conference, International Trade Secretary Liz Truss said her country was preparing to seize “a golden opportunity.”

  UK and Switzerland sign a post-Brexit “continuity agreement” on trade

  

  The UK and Switzerland have signed a deal to continue trading after Brexit as they did before it. The “continuity agreement” - based on the EU's existing free trade deal with Switzerland - was agreed in December but ratified on Monday.
