The United Nations (UN) launched in Haiti, the second phase of the vaccination campaign against cholera, which was initiated and implemented by the Haitian authorities as part of the broader framework of the national plan for the elimination of cholera in the country.
Haiti announced it has signed a multi-million dollar agreement with the US-based Carnival Cruise Lines to build a tourism port on the island of Latortue, north of the island. Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe said the 70 million dollars project will help improve the lives of the estimated 36,000 people residing in the area.
Haiti’s Prime Minister Laurent Lamonthe has pledged that his government will provide the necessary means to the electoral council to facilitate the holding of legislative and local elections this year.
