    Brazil transitioning from extremely dry weather to heavy rains

    Flooding might occur in some cities, a Metsul expert warned

    Brazil is in for one of the wettest weeks in the last semester, the weather agency MetSul warned Monday, as heavy rains, lightning, hail, and gales have been forecasted for the South American largest country's Midwest, Southeast, and South after an extended drought with very low air humidity and intense heat.

    Black rain forecast for southern Brazil and northern Uruguay

    The sky color in the Brazilian State of Rio Grande do Sul has changed due to numerous fires in the region

    Brazilian Meteorological researchers Metsul have issued a black rain warning for the southern part of the region's largest country, which could also be affecting northern Uruguay Thursday -Cerro Largo, Rivera, and parts of Rocha- given a cold front clashing with a smoke plume from the large number of fires in the region, it was explained.

    Australian bushfires smoke reaches Uruguay and the South of Brazil

    Smoke from bushfires raging across Australia reached Brazil on Tuesday, an arm of the National Institute for Space Research said on Twitter. Referring to satellite images, the agency's Department of Remote Sensing said the smoke had arrived in Brazil's southernmost state, Rio Grande do Sul.
