The Argentine navy second Ocean Patrol Vessel, OPV, named ARA Piedrabuena was launched last week in Piriou’s shipyards in Concarneau, France. This is the second of four OPVs acquired by the Argentine navy.
On Wednesday the latest incorporation to the Argentine navy will be docking in Buenos Aires, the OPV ARA Bouchard. The Ocean Patrol Vessel is the first of four to be delivered by the Naval Group shipyard, purchased from France by Argentina, and which left Toulon two weeks ago.
The UK BAE Systems has signed a deal with the Brazilian Navy to supply it with three patrol vessels. The contract is worth £133m.
