  Canadian company JHI to explore for oil and gas in Falklands' waters

  

  Oil and gas exploration company Argos Resources is set to sell its sole asset, the PL 001 production license in the North Falkland Islands, which is estimated to hold around 3 billion barrels of oil, to JHI. After completing the transaction, Argos plans to seek to delist from AIM and wind up the company.

  Petrobras and partners make major oil discovery at Sépia offshore field

  

  Petrobras and partners have made an oil discovery in the north-west of the Sépia oil field, offshore Brazil, some 250 kilometers from Rio do Janeiro, drilling the 4-BRSA-1386D-RJS (Pedunculo) well. The well, which was spudded in late July 2022, was drilled at a water depth of around 2,200m.

  Uruguay is back in the oil exploration business; three companies awarded four off shore blocks

  

  Uruguay's oil refining and fuel distribution company Ancap announced on Friday that three blocks and exploration licenses in the country's maritime shelf had been awarded. Two of them were acquired by Shell and the third by Apache Corporation, including an exploratory well, in the framework of the Open Uruguay Round.

  Falklands exploration company raising funds to appraise and develop a gas condensate discovery

  

  Borders & Southern Petroleum PLC said on Friday that it intends to conduct fundraising of up to US$1.8 million to appraise and develop its Darwin gas and condensate discovery in the Falkland Islands.

  More oil reserves discovered in Guyana, Canada's CGX Energy reported that together with parent Frontera Energy discovered an oil and gas reservoir off the coast of Guyana and anticipated drilling on a second well could begin later this year.

  Hess Exploration investing heavily in its Guyana oil offshore operations

  

  The Hess Exploration company is betting strongly in the opportunities of its Guyana operations. With a 30% interest in the Stabroek Block, it has allotted more than 80% of its capital and exploratory budget of US$1.9 billion for 2021 to its offshore blocks.

  Uruguay signs contract to resume offshore seismic surveying for oil and gas

  

  Norwegian oil and gas exploration seismic data company PGS has signed an agreement with Uruguay's state oil company ANCAP to reprocess over 11 000 km of existing 2D lines of various vintages, applying the latest seismic imaging techniques.

  ExxonMobil today announced its 16 discovery in the Stabroek Block, located off the Guyanese coastline. The Texas-based company announced that it encountered 29 meters of high-quality oil-bearing sandstone at the Uaru well.
