  Canadian company JHI to explore for oil and gas in Falklands' waters

  

  Oil and gas exploration company Argos Resources is set to sell its sole asset, the PL 001 production license in the North Falkland Islands, which is estimated to hold around 3 billion barrels of oil, to JHI. After completing the transaction, Argos plans to seek to delist from AIM and wind up the company.

  Petrobras and partners make major oil discovery at Sépia offshore field

  

  Petrobras and partners have made an oil discovery in the north-west of the Sépia oil field, offshore Brazil, some 250 kilometers from Rio do Janeiro, drilling the 4-BRSA-1386D-RJS (Pedunculo) well. The well, which was spudded in late July 2022, was drilled at a water depth of around 2,200m.

  Uruguay is back in the oil exploration business; three companies awarded four off shore blocks

  

  Uruguay's oil refining and fuel distribution company Ancap announced on Friday that three blocks and exploration licenses in the country's maritime shelf had been awarded. Two of them were acquired by Shell and the third by Apache Corporation, including an exploratory well, in the framework of the Open Uruguay Round.

  Borders & Southern Petroleum PLC said on Friday that it intends to conduct fundraising of up to US$1.8 million to appraise and develop its Darwin gas and condensate discovery in the Falkland Islands.

  Guyana rapidly becoming an oil major: 16th discovery in four years of exploration

  

  ExxonMobil today announced its 16 discovery in the Stabroek Block, located off the Guyanese coastline. The Texas-based company announced that it encountered 29 meters of high-quality oil-bearing sandstone at the Uaru well.
