Aerolíneas Argentinas Wednesday dismissed APLA pilots union leader Pablo Biró from its board of directors given the alleged incompatibility of the two functions, it was reported in Buenos Aires. His actions are detrimental to the company, a shareholders assembly found. In response, Biró said he would appeal the measure before the courts.
Flag carrier Aerolíneas Argentinas had to cancel 319 flights Friday, altering the travel plans of some 37,000 passengers, as a result of a joint strike carried out by the airline industry labor groupings representing either pilots or crewmembers.
Aerolineas Argentinas flights might be canceled or delayed in the coming days as the Airline Pilots Association (APLA) is planning to stage a series of measures over wages pending updating and other claims. In addition, the union grouping flight attendants is also considering a similar attitude, it was reported in Buenos Aires.
