Queen Elizabeth II is to make history when she becomes the first British monarch to reach their Sapphire Jubilee. On February 6, the anniversary of the day she was crowned the Queen will have reigned for 65 years. But there are no grand festivities planned to mark the head-of-state’s new milestone.
Falklands Government House announced on Tuesday the dates for the visit to the Islands by His Royal Highness The Duke of Kent.
The Falkland Islands Government has set aside £3,000 for Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee events. Some of this funding is available to people who wish to organize community events and £500 has been allocated for events on the West.
