Brazil's beef exports plummeted during October as a consequence of the ban on purchases from its main client, China. Last October sales dropped to 82,180 tons compared to 162.880 a year ago, according to Secex, Brazil's foreign trade secretariat.
Data from SECEX (foreign trade secretariat) compiled by ABIARROZ (Brazilian rice industry association) shows that Brazilian rice exports (husk base) totalled 153,500 tons in October, a volume 84% higher than in the same month of 2019 (83,570 tons).
Egypt has become one of the main suppliers of garlic to Brazil, with data this year showing that in the first eight months the product sales have already exceeded US$ 5 million, according to SECEX, Brazil's foreign trade secretariat.
Data released on Monday by Brazil' Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) indicates that corn exports reached 2 million tons in the first week of August and exceeded soybean shipments in this period.
Brazil shipped 4.1 million tons of soybeans to China in August, down 40% year on year, according to the Secretariat of Foreign Trade of Brazil, or Secex. Though Secex didn’t provide any reason for the sharp drop, but trade sources cited rising competition from Argentina and African swine fever among the reasons for the decline.
