The Falkland Islands will be marking the anniversary of the liberation of the Islands from Argentine occupation with a vast program scheduled for Sunday 14, June, 2015, in the capital Stanley.<
The program includes a religious service, a ceremony at Liberation Monument and later a reception hosted by Falkland Islands governor Colin Roberts. MLA Ian Hansen will be presented with the South Atlantic Medal on behalf of all Islanders.
Collective South Atlantic accolade to be presented next year for 'serious and grave threat' to sovereignty. Baroness Thatcher statue also to be unveiled.
Falkland Islands veterans who arrived to 'clean up' after the war ended have finally been given their campaign medals after 32 years. David Cameron handed the servicemen the South Atlantic Medal in Downing Street on Wednesday after a long-awaited review found they should have been recognized for their service in 1982, according to a report from Dan Bloom for the MailOnline.
