Coupled with deterioration in the world's economy, the Global Peace Index (GPI) for the year 2021 has been reported to have fallen 0.3% on average to reach its lowest level in 15 years, the Institute for Economics & Peace (IEP) announced this week.
The number of lives lost to terrorist attacks increased by 61% in a single year, according to the second edition of the Global Terrorism Index (GTI), rising from 11,133 in 2012 to 17,958 in 2013.
