  US tariffs: Argentina and Uruguay charged only 10%

  

  As the new tariffs scheme established by US President Donald Trump became effective Friday, Uruguay and Argentina were among the least affected countries, with surcharges of only 10%, a steep difference from Canada's 35% or Brazil's 50% and a default 15% surcharge unless otherwise specified.

  Embraer not included in Trump's 50% tariffs

  

  Brazil’s aircraft manufacturer Embraer will remain outside the scope of US President Donald Trump's 50% import tariffs after aircraft, engines, aviation parts, and components appear on the list of around 700 exempt products. Last week, the company reported that the tariff would render sales unfeasible.

  Embraer likens Trump's tariffs to Covid-19 slowdown

  

  Brazillian aircraft manufacturer Embraer, the third-largest in the world behind Boeing and Airbus, estimated that the tariffs announced by the United States against Brazil could have an impact similar to that of the Covid-19 pandemic, when the company saw a 30% drop in revenue and had to reduce its workforce by around 20%.
