Entries from the Falkland Islands Photographic Exhibition for 2000 ? 2001 were on display in St Mary's Hall this morning. A superb selection of photos was displayed by exhibitors Jim Elliot, Mike Bingham, Georgina Strange, Megan Eggling, Jennifer Luxton, Dan Birch, Ian Strange, Judy Summers and Brian Summers. Boards were sponsored by Lifestyles, Malvina House Hotel, Consolidated Fisheries, LMW (BM) Ltd, Polar Ltd, Fortuna Ltd and Sullivan Shipping Services. Passengers from the cruise vessel, Royal Princess, took the opportunity to visit the exhibition.

27 December Afternoon Race Meeting

The Millennium Race Meeting continued at the Stanley Race Course yesterday afternoon, although all of the days racing could not be completed due the adverse weather conditions. Some of the race winners were as follow: The Southern Cross Trophy was run over 700 yards and saw Matthew McMullen take the first place on Che Run. The CFL Challenge cup went to Ron Binnie and Negro with See Me Do It and Arthur Turner placing first in the 700 yards Malcom Binnie Memorial Race. Owen Summers and Samara were first in the Consolation Race with Ron Rozee and Shasa taking the winning position in the Simon Summers Memorial Championship race over 500 yards. Florida and Tim Bonner took the first in the Salvador Prize Champion Race and Maurice Davis and See Me Do It were first in the Association Race. Racing and gymkahna events were also cancelled this morning due to the wet conditions of the course following the heavy downpours of rain overnight.
