Thousands of people have visited the Falklands Memorial Chapel at Pangbourne for a church service and four-day flower festival commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Falklands War.

The Bishop or Reading, the Right Reverend Dominic Walker, gave the address at Sunday evensong. There were marching parades by Pangbourne College pupils and a concert by Pangbourne Choral Society.

Forty beautiful flower arrangements by the Chapel Flower Guild led by Mrs Sadie Clare portrayed "the journey through life and across the sea and land to Port Stanley in the Falklands", described by the Secretary of the Pangbourne Trustees, Mrs Angela Perry, as "absolutely fantastic".

A lecture called "War, a Spiritual Pilgrimage2, was given by the 1982 Task Force Commander, Admiral Sir John "Sandy" Woodward, and Task Force paratroop padre, the Reverend David Cooper.

The weekend's events raised several thousand pounds towards the maintenance of the Chapel and supply of flowers throughout the year.
