The British government has rejected Argentina's decision to initiate international arbitration over the Sea Lion oil project and said Buenos Aires' campaign over the Falklands raises questions about Argentina's reliability as a partner for the United Kingdom. A pilot on a Flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv stabbed another pilot in the cockpit on Wednesday and, according to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, apparently tried to crash the plane. Passengers and crew members subdued him, and the aircraft made an emergency landing in Tabuk, in north-west Saudi Arabia, with all 174 passengers safe, 166 of them Israelis.

Chile's Defence Minister Fernando Barros Tocornal has backed the development of commercial activity between the Magallanes region and the Falklands, saying his country's support for Argentina's sovereignty claim does not imply restrictions on trade with the archipelago. He made the remarks in an interview with Radio Polar in Punta Arenas during a visit to the region on September 24 and 25.
