2002 Photographic Exhibition

The Photographic Exhibition is an annual event, intended to be a quality photographic exhibition with high standards of work and presentation. This year there will be two elements to the show, to be held at the Jetty Visitors' Centre in Stanley during summer 2002/03 ? the now traditional exhibition and also a competition section sponsored by the Falkland Islands Tourist Board.

The competition

Entries are invited on the theme "Falklands Today". Ten finalists will be chosen by a panel of judges. These finalists will be on show in the Jetty Visitors Centre and online at http://www.tourism.org.fk Voting will take place by members of the public either in person at the Jetty Visitors Centre or through the web site. The voting will close on 28 February 2003 and the winner will receive their prize of a one-year subscription to the leading Photography magazine, Practical Photography.

Who can enter

Open to both professional and amateur photographers of all ages.

What material is suitable for entry

Black & white or colour photographs. Any subject is acceptable for the exhibition, but the competitive section must reflect the theme ?Falklands Today'. All entries must be flush mounted. Prints no smaller than 10x8" and no larger than 16x20". Digital/computer enhanced entries printed on a desktop printer are acceptable so long as they meet the required criteria.

Date for entries

Prints for exhibition or for entry into the competition should be received by the committee no later than 20 October 2002. The exhibition will begin on 1 November 2002 and will be on display until 30 March 2003. Voting will take place between 1 November 2002 and 28 February 2003.
