Italian support for Argentina

The Italian Parliament unanimously approved an all party resolution in support of Argentina promising to promote specific initiatives in the European Union and internationally.

The resolution means an inter regional agreement between Mercosur and the European Union is a priority and that Italy is willing to consider a restructuring of Argentina's public debt with Italy in the framework of the Paris Club multilateral agreements.

The Italian Parliament commits the government to make use of all necessary instruments to ensure "projects that prompt investments in the productive economy".

The Italian commitment should help Argentina promote its overseas sales and cultural presence in the world.
