The CEO of the Inter-American Development Bank, Enrique Iglesias praised Argentina for its efforts to overcome the economic crisis and the fact that it's achieving it with its own means.
Mr. Iglesias was one of the speakers at the recent Ibero-american summit in Bolivia and said it was "very enlightening and stimulating" to see how Argentina is managing the situation.
"Argentina is a rich, powerful country with an extraordinary vigour, and is proving it's recovering with its own means", stressed Mr. Iglesias who anticipated "you will be coming out of the crisis sooner and faster than you expect".
When asked about claims of an alleged lack of an economic program in Argentina, the IDB CEO brushed the comments aside and stated that "stability and growth are clear indications of the existence of foundations on which to build".
"I think we should all give Argentina time, the first thing was to put the fire out and that is being achieved.
The following was a starting point on which to build, and this is being achieved. Not all problems have been solved, and won't be solved for a long time, but Argentina is back on track", said Mr. Iglesias.
