Falklanders are being warned that they will be prosecuted if found on the site of the new Argentine Memorial while it's under construction.

However AWG regional manager Ken McKenzie, the company that has been contracted by the Argentines to assemble the Memorial in the Argentine cemetery in Darwin says they are not treating this case "differently" from any of their other construction sites.

"Construction sites are dangerous places and only authorised persons are allowed on them", underlined Mr. McKenzie.

Other Memorial news is that one of the graves may have to be moved as the footprint of the new monument interferes with it.

Acting Governor Harriet Hall told FIBS News Direct that at the moment they are seeking advice from London before any final decision is made.

The grave is marked as unknown so no next of kin have to be notified. Ms. Hall also added that the grave would be exhumed and the contents moved to an empty space within the cemetery.

It's hoped that work will begin on the construction towards the end of February.

An Antigua Barbuda flagged vessel is expected to transport the concrete blocks and slabs, totalling over 200 tons, to the Falklands.

AWG expects to have the Argentine cenotaph assembled and delivered in less than two months.

However there's no formal date for the inauguration of the Memorial, when according to the Committee of Relatives of Argentine Servicemen fallen in Malvinas between 800 and 1,000 next of kin, veterans and press are expected to travel to the Falklands.
