The vessel BBC Japan, which left the Argentine port of Campana was docked around 4 o'clock this afternoon.
Once the monument has been unloaded it will be transported to Darwin for construction.
A member of the public brought up the arrival of the monument at last night's public meeting, expressing concern over reports that there were 19 names on the memorial of soldiers who had never been to the Islands.
Councillors said that as far as they were aware the matter had been under investigation in Argentina, but they hadn't heard any more.
When asked whether Argentine next of kin would be allowed to fly into the islands on a charter flight, councillors said all charter flights are banned whether they are Argentine or otherwise.
