This Monday Chilean president Ricardo Lagos will be opening the XIII edition of the International Air and Space Fair, FIDAE, which has attracted over 100 aircrafts presented by 250 exhibitors from 30 different countries.

FIDAE is held in Cerrillos airport, close to Santiago and will have as some of its stars the Lockheed Martin F 16 fighter bomber recently acquired by the Chilean Air Force and the Royal Air Force early warning Sentry E-3D that proved so successfully in Kosovo and Afghanistan.

The Chilean Air Force will be displaying all their power, Mirage Elkan, Panthers, helicopters and a whole rang of defence technology.

Chilean and Brazilian Air Forces acrobatic teams are scheduled to perform during the week together with the US parachutists "Wings of Blue" that will be making precision jumping from over 3,500 metres.

As in previous editions Chilean organizers are expecting several tens of millions of US dollars in business deals to be achieved during the week long fair.
