Five representatives from the Falklands are in Christchurch New Zealand today for the start of the 15th General meeting of the International Association of Antarctic Tour Operators.
Councillor Richard Cockwell is there along with the Governor Howard Pearce, Becky Ingham from Falklands Conservation, Debbie Summers from Sulivan Shipping and Trish Card from FIC.
A workshop will be held today to discuss an inventory of landing sites in the Ross Sea region, before the conference kicks off officially tomorrow with a series of administrative discussions.
Later in the week talks will include Howard Pearce giving an update on the Falklands and South Georgia, and Becky Ingham will make a presentation on Falklands Conservation working together with Avitourism. The meeting wraps up on Friday.
