A British trade mission visited Uruguay this week and reached several agreements with a local university and the British Hospital plus encouraging prospects in other areas.
Organized by the London based British-Argentine Chamber of Commerce the annual event to Buenos Aires and other regional markets will extend until December 6.
"Uruguay is a good platform to sell to Mercosur neighbours. We believe our products can help develop the health industry in Uruguay achieving European standards", said Nicholas Brown from Liquid Plastics that specializes in paints for hospitals and operating rooms.
George Lunt from Bath University said that a student exchange program at post graduate level in Business Administration and Economics will be soon started with a private university in Montevideo.
"We believe it's interesting that British students can come to Uruguay to assess the impact of a future Mercosur-European Union free trade area", added Mr. Lunt.
