Falklands War horrors portrayed in Argentine film
“Enlightened by Fire”, which opens this week in Buenos Aires is the first major Argentine film to portray the horrors of the ten week 1982 South Atlantic conflict which was fought mainly in the Falkland Islands claimed by Argentina.

Falklands fisheries policy condemned by Argentina
The Argentine government is considering measures to discourage and eventually sanction fishing companies that purchase Falkland Islands 25 year licences, reports Clarin in its Thursday edition.

Royal Navy sells three S. Atlantic Patrol frigates to Chile
Chilean Minister of Defence Jaime Ravinet signed Wednesday in London the agreement for the purchase of three former Royal Navy Type 23 frigates, HMS Marlborough, HMS Norfolk and HMS Grafton. The British government was represented by Lord Drayson, Minister for Defence Procurement.

Falklands fines Korean trawler for misreporting catches
A Korean flagged trawler was fined Monday £ 65,000 by the Falkland Islands government on three charges, two on false misreporting and one on catching unauthorized species. Kim Myeong, Master of the “Esperanza” was also fined £ 2,500 plus legal costs of £ 500.

August retail prices in Argentina dropped to 0,4%
Argentina's August consumer prices index dropped to 0,4%, the lowest so far this year accumulating 7,7% in the first eight months of 2005, according to the latest release from the Statistics and Census Institute.
