November fish and shellfish landings in Argentine ports reached 74.000 tonnes bringing the total Argentine catch to 765.473 tonnes in the first eleven months of the year, according to figures released the Argentine Fisheries and Aquaculture Undersecretariat (SSP&A).
Of that total Mar del Plata received 404.494,7 tons followed by Puerto Madryn with 135.884 tons, becoming the major Patagonian port in fisheries volume terms.
Ushuaia was third with 74.019 tonnes, followed by Puerto Deseado, 58.026 tonnes; Comodoro Rivadavia, 22.229 tons; East and West San Antonio 17.235 tons and Rawson 14.815 tons.
The SSP&A report shows common hake (Merluccius hubbsi) was the leading species in November with landings of 50.653 tonnes. The total landed volume for hake during the first 11 months of the year reached 307.457 tons.
Slightly more than half that amount, 183.332.9 tons of hake was landed in Mar del Plata; 50.705 tonnes in Puerto Madryn; 18.242 tonnes in Comodoro Rivadavia; 13.296 tonnes in Rawson; 12.972 tonnes in Puerto Deseado and 12.834 tons in East and West San Antonio.
The fresh fish fleet contributed with 278.230 tons of fish and shellfish landed until November of which 74%, 205.449 tons was hake.
The freezer fleet landed only 68,682 tons of common hake, amounting to 22% of total resources catches. (FIS/MP).-
