Chile stabilizes fuel prices for next twelve months
Gasoline in Chile will remain below the 620 pesos per litre benchmark during the next ten months, following the government's decision to intervene in the fuel market to help mitigate the impact of hurricane Katrina and international crude prices.

Royal Navy sells three S. Atlantic Patrol frigates to Chile
Chilean Minister of Defence Jaime Ravinet signed Wednesday in London the agreement for the purchase of three former Royal Navy Type 23 frigates, HMS Marlborough, HMS Norfolk and HMS Grafton. The British government was represented by Lord Drayson, Minister for Defence Procurement.

Falklands fines Korean trawler for misreporting catches
A Korean flagged trawler was fined Monday £ 65,000 by the Falkland Islands government on three charges, two on false misreporting and one on catching unauthorized species. Kim Myeong, Master of the “Esperanza” was also fined £ 2,500 plus legal costs of £ 500.

August retail prices in Argentina dropped to 0,4%
Argentina's August consumer prices index dropped to 0,4%, the lowest so far this year accumulating 7,7% in the first eight months of 2005, according to the latest release from the Statistics and Census Institute.

Venezuela's Government owned oil Company Petroleos de Venezuela, PDVSA, affiliate in United States, Citgo, is refining 840.000 barrels per day and its capacity has not been curtailed by hurricane Katrina revealed PDVSA president Felix Rodriguez.
