A fighter jet which fought in the 1982 Falkland Islands war was sold for £ 65.512 on the internet auction site eBay reports the Daily Mirror.
Apparently the engineless Sea Harrier was bought by a bidder in Scotland. The former vertical take off Royal Navy aeroplane has wingspan of 25ft and is 46ft long.

A truck dealer in West Bromwich, West Mids, sold the jet after getting it in a part-exchange. Keltruck's Chris Kelly said: "We will be sorry to see it go, but we do need the space", according to the London newspaper.

The British Aerospace Sea Harrier is described as a ship borne multi-role combat aircraft with a maximum speed of 736 kilometres and 1.000 kilometres range.

The Sea Harrier is powered by one 9.572 kilograms dry thrust Rolls Royce Pegasus Mk 106 vectors thrust turbofan.

The armament includes two 30-mm Aden cannon, plus provision for 3629 kg of stores carried on five pylons and including four AIM-120 AMRAAM or two AMRAAM and four Sidewinder AAMs, two Harpoon or Sea Eagle anti-ship missiles and a number of other advanced weapons to complement the types carried by the Sea Harrier FRS.Mk 1.
