Brigadier is a new boss of BFSAI

of British Forces in the South Atlantic passed from the
Royal Navy to the Army as the outgoing Commander, CommodoreIan Moncrieff, formally handed
over to Brigadier Nick Davies on Monday.

Brigadier Davies MBE MC has served with the Royal Signals and the Parachute Regiment in Germany, Belize, Northern Ireland and Iraq during the First Gulf War, where he was awarded the Military Cross.

He later went on to command 1 Para and completed tours as a Colonel in Northern Ireland and Afghanistan. Brigadier Davies said he was "very pleased" to be in the Falklands Islands and to take command of British Forces.

"Our mission of ensuring security of the Islands presents unique opportunities and challenges, and I am looking forward to working closely with the Falkland Islands Government and getting to know the Islands and people well."

He is married with two young children and is posted to the Falklands for 18 months. (PN)
