The number of foreign tourists visiting Argentina during the month of February had an inter-annual increase of 22% and accumulated a 20.6% expansion in the first two months of 2007, according to official sources.
The Secretary of Tourism reported in a release that during February 199.875 foreigners arrived at Ezeiza the country's main airport. In the first two months of 2007 the number of foreigners arriving in Argentina totaled 380.569 of which 64% from the Americas and 31% from Europe. Brazil was top of the list with 32.000, followed by United States, 29.000; Chile, 29.000 and Spain 13.000. Overall in 2006 compared to 2005, the number of tourists arriving in Argentina increased 15.5%, totaling two million and confirming a tendency which begun in 2003.
