In a message to incoming British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Argentine president Nestor Kirchner renewed his administration's indeclinable willingness to resume the delayed Falklands/Malvinas Islands negotiations process
"I'm convinced that occasions must be created, not wait for them", emphasized Kirchner in his diplomatic message to Tony Blair's successor who took office Wednesday afternoon, revealed Argentina's official news agency Telam. Argentina's leader took advantage of the protocol congratulation sent to PM Brown to insist in his administration's interest in discussing sovereignty over the Malvinas, South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands and the adjoining maritime spaces. "I've followed closely the process that has made you leader of the Labor Party, and from there Prime Minister", says the message adding that "when world circumstances show the importance of building an international community capable of addressing with renewed vision the gravest and most urgent problems of the global agenda, I wish to renew the willingness of my government to jointly contribute with that objective". President Kirchner underlined that his wish about Malvinas is circumscribed to the "pertinent United Nations resolutions" and with the purpose of contributing to the spirit of the international community mentioned afore. "I wish to express my desire that your government constitutes a new opportunity to establish close links between our countries and multiply our coincidences in international policy issues for the benefit of our peoples", underlined Kirchner. Scotland born Gordon Brown became Wednesday UK Prime Minister following the Labor record breaking decade of Tony Blair.
