Arctic holds massive oil and gas reserves say US scientists

The Arctic could hold as much as 90 billion barrels of undiscovered oil and has as much undiscovered gas as all the reserves known to exist in Russia, US government scientists have said in the first governmental assessment of the region's resources.

Investment and exports behind Uruguay's growth

Productive investment and exports have been behind the sustained growth of the Uruguayan economy since the crisis of 2002, according to Fernando Lorenzo head of the Macroeconomic and Financial Advisors Office from the country's Ministry of Economy.

London ambassador proposes sharing Malvinas resources

”The only way (for Argentina) to take advantage of the Malvinas resources is to share them, but to share them you must have an agreement (with the UK) and for that you need political will which at this moment does not exist”, said Argentine ambassador in London, Federico Mirré who is retiring after forty years in the diplomatic service.
