A selection of UK media coverage of the Falkland Islands will be on display at the Standard Chartered Bank (23-27 February) and Community School (9-13 March) in Stanley. The publicity has been generated by Keene, the public relations consultancy for the Falkland Islands Government and the Falkland Islands Tourist Board.

Through this coverage, millions of people in the UK have been given a feel for what life is like in the Falklands. Colourful and insightful features have been placed in top print, broadcast and online media. Once again, journalists have been keen to feature the 'real life' stories of people living and working in the Islands and to share their personal insights with their readers. In total, over 200 items of positive and informed coverage about the Islands have appeared in the UK press and media since November 2007 (when the last exhibition was held), providing a range of perspectives of Falklands' life and detailing the Islands' success story. Sukey Cameron MBE, Falkland Islands Government Representative in the UK, said: "We work closely with the UK press and media in order to ensure factually correct coverage of the Falklands and to secure opportunities to showcase the Islands' development since 1982. This exhibition is a sample of the huge array of coverage generated. We have encouraged journalists not just to dwell on the past but to portray today's thriving Islands." Tony Richards, Managing Director of Keene, said: "We are extremely grateful to all those in the Falklands who have worked with us to achieve coverage of the Islands over the past twelve months. You are your own best ambassadors and without your contributions we would not be able to promote today's Falklands so effectively. We should also like to thank the Standard Chartered Bank for hosting this exhibition."
