Statement before the United Nations General Assembly 63rd Session, Special Committee of 24 on Decolonisation by the Honourable Richard Stevens, member of the Falkland Islands Legislative Assembly, 18 June 2009. Read full article
This true story tells how twenty years after British troops died for democracy in the Falklands War, a British citizen would be forced to flee the Falklands to escape political corruption and death threats, to seek democracy and freedom of speech in Argentina
To those Argentines who think that we should come to your Wonderful country. See below.
An estimated four million Argentines live in poverty in metropolitan Buenos Aires of which 1.2 million are described as indigent, which means they don’t have minimum resources to purchase the basic food basket according to a survey from SEL Consultores released this week.
John, Argentina is not inviting islanders to join us. Sovereignty dispute is about who own the islands, as simple as that. Argentina is not thinking on removing islanders from the islands nor moving them to Buenos Aires.
Argentina ignores the self-determination rights of the islands, it ignores their clearly expressed desire to retain the link to the UK and seeks to coerce rather than persuade.
And Nitrojuan, you can chant your empty slogans, what matters is what the people living in the islanders want. The fact you view them through racist eyes as unter menschen speaks volumes.
No justin, everything opposite, if I was racist I would say : the kelpers must not have Argentine citizenship, not no other for occupying an invaded territory like the racist that kelpers have kept with UK.
