    If Argentina needs trade surpluses so badly, why does the Kirchner government do everything in its power to undermine its agricultural sector and interfere with one of the few competitive exports Argentina has left (other than talented and ambitious young people)?

    Tim, they do this because the want all the trappings of a capatilist economy, while subsidizing another failed socialist state. They steal from the state, most recently the land grab and sale, and send their money to Uruguay in the best Peronist traditions.
