The cool thing about seismic work, the guys that shoot the lines and process the data in 3D and 4D, then sell it to the highest bidder. They major percentage of wildcat seismic data is worthless, but the buyers don't know until their check clears. That is why they call this risk or wildcat work. Argentina could have this being done on the continental shelf righ now if the govt would allow the risk contractors to write off the costs associated with drilling a dry hole, or at the very least share a portion of the risk. Instead they put all the risk on the contractor and only want to take the major share of production...
