Apr 07th, 2010 - 02:20 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Of course, it doesn't really matter who wins our election ..... none of the political parties are prepared to discuss the issue of sovereignty over the Falkland Islands with Argentina .,... after all, there is nothing to discuss and no problem over sovereignty that requires any talks .... :-)

Apr 13th, 2010 - 11:54 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I tend to base gdr on how well a country is doing, by the infant mortality rate, if the infant mortality rate is very high it indictaes that the country is not investing in basic social care for it's population, either because it doesn't have the resources or has high levels of corruption.
lets compare Argentina and the UK then: UN population statistics UK: 4.8, position 22, Argentina 13.4, position 71.
And for added benefit Afghanistan, bottom of the league with 180.
Thats nearly 3 times as many deaths as the UK, somethings going on here? Money isn't going to where it's needed!...two outcomes exist, the Argentine government doesn't have the resources to invest in the health service, or the Argentine government has the money but corruption stops the money reaching where it is needed.
I think the answer lies somewhere in between for Argentina.
