Now why on earth cannot Argentina behave in that manner? amicable friendly a desire to understand one another and to learn from each other?

And what is the Argentine governments response threats, blockades and war mongering.

I give it 5 days before the boards here are filled with Irate Malvinista's squawking traidor repeatedly........

I am all in favour of this
Having been educated ( 1939 -1944 ) at St Albans in Argentina I would appreciated a visit by their pupils and others to the Falklands but will this ever happen-I rather dought it

it all depends on the attitude of your government Quintana I would hope in years to come when the current Jerkners go that a more mature conciliatory approach will be made, that looks as the islanders as people not political pawns and sub human scum to be bullied and cajoled for political gain ... it really has sickened me the attitude the current administration has taken...

Perhaps when the government(not mine I might add I left in 1944)realises there is plenty of oil they will consider a refinery on mainland Argentina, and all will be sweetness and light A pipeline to South Africa is a bit too far! I visited The Falklands some 12 years ago and was impressed. Quintana was where we lived in BA

I don't know about it being too far for a pipeline, after all the Druzhba pipeline (runs from Almetyevsk in Tatarstan to Schwedt in Germany) is about 4,000 km long, before it links in to the rest of the european oil pipe network. Stanley is only about 6,300 km from Capetown as the albatross flies...

    2. I'm in favour of this too...hope that the kids feel welcome, and enjoy their stay. It's things like this which bring people together. Most european towns and cities have their “twintowns” in other countries. Cultural and educational ties are strengthened, local political connections are made, forums of discussion flourish......Many a time it's embarassing to admit to being an argentine passport holder

Nice and wonderfull to know there are civilised, peaceful people (students/Punta Arenas), who want to visit, learn and know about the people of Falkland Isl. withuot an abominable uterior motive.
One could wish their neighbour to the east/southeast maybe would learn how to behave in the same friendly way. Possible?? (hardly!)
A combination of fanatic nationalism and aggressive nature is disgusting.
Make love not aggression!! (for you Jorge!!)

I wouldn't buy anything coming from Chile, I can stop buying the red wine, not much of a price to pay, and if LAN doesn't see eye to eye with the Argentine government I think they should take their planes elsewhere.

Nice one avargas. LAN are really going to stop one of their profitable routes because of some weak and unfounded claim that Argentina won't even take to the ICJ. It is no wonder why private industry struggles to florish in Argentina!

I'm sure the Chilenos are all quaking in their boots at A. Vargas' threat.

Call me pedantic Avargarse, but from what I have seen so far of your arguments, you don't seem old enough or mature enough to be able to consume any alcoholic beverages, unless you are one of those hardcore cool types who sip mummy and daddy's bottle of wine and then brag to your mates at school the next day?

As for LAN I think the relatives of Argentina's fallen would have something to say about cutting of flights since they are that services main patrons.

You really do disgust me Avagarsehole where the Falkalnders have offered so much to get along in a peaceful manner like any normal human beings with their nearest neighbours and you just come along with hateful war rhetoric statements like that....I hope when you finally grow up little boy you will come back and see your absurdities you posted and burn with shame

    - Sorry man, you are the agressive people, not me/us.

    - You have to behave in a century XXI manner, you are in the past. When you come to 2010 and meet reality, we can be friends!!!

And also a good historian in your past time as well Axel :) It would be interesting to know how our little South Atlantic cousins are taught, ask one of the many islanders would be the best way to find out, apparently they have traveling teachers in the most remote areas.

I would love to visit such a pristine untouched area, I have a passion for landscape photography and as a citizen born in an oversea territory I have a shared sense of solidarity with the Falklanders.....

Buts it always good to see cultural exchanges like the one above, it shows the mature modern peaceful intentions of two peoples with mutual respect for one anothers cultures, no politics, no hate just regarding each other as human beings.....

    13. Axel, what are you waiting for, go on, get on that bus / LAN flight, get out there and have a look. Get in touch with people beforehand, make contacts. The way forward is through communication, respect of others and adapt to situations, conditions....jump over your shadow and hacer el primer paso.

GLOBERTROTTER, i would go today if i would have many to fly to the malvinas, but it's to much expensive to for us to visit the islands, anyway some day i will travel to tierra del fuego and after i will take a ship to the malvinas, it will be a great trip.

My argument still stands “crawl well”. As a matter of fact trapiche is a lot better and cheaper too, as for your idea of imperialism is a little capitalist, I mean sooner or latter we will have to deal with something like BP or in this case LAN and pay for the damages, ask the hungry pinguins if you can still find them after rockhooper rigs do their deed in Malvinas, oviously we only see what you want to see, as for the purpose of this ranting I would abstain from eating fish. I can only add that history will prove me right, Rockhooper, desire petroleum and FOGL will not let us down.

Go back to your mummy and daddy's wine Avagarse you've shown yourself incapable of holding any kind of sensible opinion, no one cares about your nonsense.

Rockhopper doesn't have any rigs, 4 companies are borrowing one exploration platform from another company does that clear up some of your massively mal-informed opinions?
