Falkland Oil & Gas (FOGL) in association with BHP Billiton became the third oil company this year to begin exploratory drilling operations in Falkland Islands’ waters according to a Tuesday release from the company. Read full article
This was my first FI Oil investment and represents a greater risk than the NFB.
The FOGL/BHP acreage is vast in comparisson to the DES, RKH & BOR so the reward is potentially huge (but very risky).
I am not expecting the first drill to be a huge hit but it will be a useful exercise to get some more data on this region of the SFB. If it is a hit though, then the sp with shoot up as Toroa is a potential monster. Hoping that a drill ship will be acquired as this is when things will get really interesting.
Remember if you are planning on ivesting in such a high risk project then only invest what you can afford to lose and do plenty of research.
@Beef. Please don't be so nasty to jorge! He isn't wasting his time because he no doubt believes that his neanderthal rantings have some relevance. It could be argued that he is wasting OUR time, but he and his pals are such a laugh that it's hard to remain annoyed for long. Remember that in the days of that good old British institution of Bedlam, the inmates could say anything.
Jorge might sound a bit childish, but take in count a few things before reading: - It's not he's mother tongue.
- This is the way of acting of a nationalist person, with no rational thoughts, pursuing a dream for what he believes it's the best for his nation (so, he's not that wrong to act like that knowing what brits have done to world)
- bottomline he's abosolutely right about the legitimacy of Argentina's sovereignty (and the ICJ it's not a way of solving the issue because of Britain's weight in there, no doubt that court it will be impartial)
P.S (just a thought of mine): Although, I'm not keen on CFK, she's got all the credit by using democracy gathering all the approvals from dozens of governments to prove, once more, to whom those islands belong to.
Agreed. jorge! is childish.
Argentine legitimacy? Not a chance. this is Argentine propaganda. Try real (as opposed to Argentine) history.
Primary determination of government: The peoplewho live there. Approval from dozens of governments? Total Argentine bullshit.
CFK and democracy: The Botox queen wouldn't know what it was!
and the ICJ it's not a way of solving the issue because of Britain's weight in there, no doubt that court it will be impartial
And you have proof of this Juanchi Tiempo? Perhaps you could list all the ICJ cases the UK has been party to (from the beginning in 1945) plus the verdicts for these cases. Let's see if most of these cases have been awarded to the UK shall we? I bet your little impartiality fantasy will simply be blown out of the water.
By the way, Jorgebobo has tried this line of argument before with absolutely zero success, but we love him anyway for keeping us entertained.
The world was carved during the age of imperialism with the nod of approval from different governments, did that make it any more legitimate? No it didn't!
Anyway I have yet to seen any minutes from that closed door meeting which stated support as such, just a blanket declaration signed by the mexican president.
I like my arse and you lick mine was probably the heated discussion that took place?
8 Juanweather, hi, how are you!. I'm not nationalist, the thing is I've been here trying to discuss with these piracy supporters for more than two years, but they wouldn't discuss seriously. They always came out with their disgusting pirate propaganda, so let's say, I gave up!!!!! Now I laugh at them!

Hmmm, I wasn't aware that providing arguments based on documented historical facts, along with documents from the UN itself could be classed as pirate propaganda.
Much like your own government really who also shout with impotent rage that the UK is breaking international laws and UN resolutions yet has utterly failed to say which international laws the UK is breaking and which UN resolutions the UK is breaching.
Perhaps you could provide this information?
If I remember rightly you also stated that Argentina had sunk our aircraft carrier HMS Invincible which was reported more than once in Argentine papers at the time, and you provided evidence from YouTube to back up your claim. Yet you accuse others of peddling propaganda?
Jorge you are a nationalist fascist thug and we are the ones who laugh at you, you just get angry and hit the keyboard in fits in rage, which might explain your incoherent rants....
According to my research, the Argies claimed that they had sunk HMS Invincible no less than 6 times! They then went on to claim, for years, that HMS Illustrious had been repainted etc to hide the fact that Invincible had been sunk. At the same time, Britain secretly built another HMS Invincible. All this in around 80 days. We must get in touch with the Aircraft Carrier Alliance. The new carriers are 65,000 tons, so slightly less than three times the size of the 22,000 ton Invincible class. Why are they taking 6 years (each) instead of 240 days?
The Argentine pilots clanged most of the floatilla. Their bombs did not arm because the pilots themselves spun the fuses. They were not stupid, they new they could jink around the aircraft defenses but at that speed and altitude, if they had dropped armed munitions, the blast would have gotten them also..
@19 Bubba. No. Brave, but a few moments thought will demonstrate that the closer you get to a weapon, the less time there is for the weapon to aim and fire. Not a bad call for pilots who might have wanted to survive. Yo u may find that http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falklands_War in the section Landing at San Carlos — Bomb Alley attributes the failure of munitions to explode to a wish to avoid the highest concentration of British air defences.
Stop smoking between your mums legs? Well since you politely asked.....
Jorge you have the sounding of a man who got close to doing the latter but fails so vents his frustration on here, take my advice Argentine girls do not wish to here you talk about the great injustices of the Falklands all night long, it may be hard for yourself but eventually you might be able to reach beyond phase 1 of manhood: converting thine neighbours daughter, rather than phase 5 smashing thine neighbors daughter.....

Then Malvinas doesn't exist.
