European farmers want “solid” policies to protect them from Mercosur

The European Farmers and Agri-Cooperatives organizations, Copa-Cogeca, called on Tuesday for a “solid” Common Agriculture Policy, CAP, to protect European farmers from Mercosur (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay) countries’ competition. Read full article

    No place for Mercosur imports in the EU until Mercosur complies with EU regulations.

    Some years ago a supermarket was selling Braz beef, sent them a rocket complaining as we have the world's best beef in Scotland, they never tried that one again!
    Subsequently heard that lots of folk had complained in-store too!

    The world's best beef is in Argentina, man.

    And all the European agriculture is fully subsidized, first remove it and we can start talking about rules and fair trade.

    Cheer up, Arg. I just found a report that Friends of the Earth are complaining about the import of South American soy feed for our cattle. So I've pointed that we can grow our own feed and quit importing from Argentina. That'll be another one of your markets gone!!
