Disclaimer & comment rulesCongratulations to chile. First of all, in the last 7 weeks, Catholic nations Portugal and Argentina have installed marriage equality for gay people. And Ireland has put in civil unions.

Latin America is changing. The church no longer rules, and treats the people as vassalss, while it makes the super-rich ever richer, for they hold the keys to its power.
Mexico city has marriage equality for gays. Mexico Cohuila state has civil unions. Columbia has common law marriage, Equador and Uruguay have civil unions, and Brazil ahs some rights nationwide, and more rights in some locations.
There no longer is a battle of if there will be legal marriage rights for gays. the only question left is when it will happen in all the other major Latin countries.
Equality for gay peoplei is the social justice issue of our time.
Muchos Gracias
Whether or not Chile, legalizes same sex marriage, it will NEVER change God's rule of marrage, as being between a man and a women. In God's eye, same sex marriages are not married and never will be married. Shame on Socialist Senator Fulvio Rossi- Millet
