The number of tourists that arrived in Argentina during June increased 29.7% compared to the same month last year, according to a government report.

The government announced that 199,736 foreign tourists entered the country in June via Ezeiza airport, which is the main access route into Argentina.

The report states that the total expense of the tourists during this month was 32% higher than the one reported the same month last year, it reached 247.3 million dollars.

In June, 137,327 Argentine citizens travelled outside the country, 16.4% higher that the figures reported the same month in 2009. Meanwhile, the total expense of Argentine citizens during their trips outside the country reached 230.9 million dollars, 47.6% higher than the one reported during the same month in 2009.

Most of the tourists were from: Brazil (38.9%), the rest of America (19.9%), Europe (16.7%), United Stated and Canada (10.7%), Chile (9.3%) and the rest of the world (4.5%).

    Excellent! Results of tourism virtually neutral. US$247.3 million IN. US$230.9 million OUT. Can afford so much more in poor government-subsidised Argentina. Also, solidarity counts. And that's what South Americans have between their ears.
