'But while we are down there, we are also policing the seas and ensuring that they are safe for all to use and pass through.'

    Really Marco. Explain your reasoning?

This is nothing more than one ship replacing another. Argentina is no threat so doubt that anyone is scared and how does this represent desperation?

You are a bit of a loser arn't you?

Thing is, Marco, that Britain has already told your lot what it thinks of your assertions of your “rights” in international waters.

Both of the two previous on-station warships carried out rescues in said international waters.

So, as the Captain said, the Royal Navy will police the seas and ensure that they are safe for all to use and pass through.

I have no idea what orders the Captain may be sailing under. But it is a vessel it would probably be wise to stay away from.

We all know what your forces are doing in Malvinas, besides counting penguins at the expense of british taxpayers, well represented in this video in Malvinas.

Ah yes YouTube, the highpoint of debate for the Argentine. Some British soldiers in posing pouches and it gets that Latin blood hot and pumping.

Marco, what they do in their own time I don't give a monkeys. I saw a lot worse in my day, what they do to blow off steam is up to them.

this ship will go through the straits between argenland, and Chile, and nothing will happen, the so called blockade will disappear until they are gone, what was it the argies said, all ships on the way to the Falklands and stopping in other south American countries will be stopped, if this is only partly true, we wait in anticipation to see if the argenland navy does nothing more than sit in port DREAMIMG ?////??????/freedom for the slaves of argenland, let them go.

Marco, The £100million or so ayear it costs to keep a credidible miltary defence here is less than 0.5 of 1% of the total annual Uk defence Budget - it is a pinprick - and if were not here they would be somewhere else anyway so very little saving - plus all 3 services can do training and livefire exercises here that are almost impossible elswhere.

Anyone know whether this is true? Rumour has it that the MoD have found an ideal bomb and missile test range combined with a live-fire tank training ground somewhere 300+ miles west of the Falkland Islands.

Islander is right, we like to have bases all over so our troops can train in different enviroments. Infact, there isn't even enough housing for all our forces in the UK, they are so used to being spread across the globe.

Possibly harrier, such things would be clissified i believe. I don't know though, tanks are rather large gear to move around that far out, and i think most tanks are kept in the UK for training/rapid deployment. Not much use with tanks out there either, Argentina doesn't have anything a RPG couldnt destroy in one hit.
