Oh dear, seems as though Chile is going to follow the example of the argentines by celebrating a bicentennial too early. Not quite as bad as argentina, who celebrated theirs 43 years early. Chile is only going to celebrate 8 years early.

Dear friends, we can say that your right in same way. Certainly, our liberation was on 1818, but on 1810 there was a Cabildo Abierto (Opening Meeting) were the Criollos (Chilean born people) proclamed our Independence from the Spanish Kingdom, and after a long war that concluded with the Chilean victory on 1818 that we are the Republica de Chile up to today.

And, as we use to say ...... VIVA CHILE, MIERDA....!!!

perhaps chile should move eastwards and south east, as far as the coast, abt 300 mile from the falklands, and remove argentina of the scene

There has NEVER been a clean hearted Argentine. Removed from Europe for being pigs, they have remained pigs. Best known for welcoming and harbouring Nazi pigs, from whom they learned the principles of a “Final Solution” as demonstrated in the 60s and 70s and for acting like pigs when they illegally invaded the sovereign territory of the Falkland Islands.
