Chilean Air Force begins to receive 18 refurbished f-16 fighters

This week Holland will be delivering 18 refurbished F-16 fighter bombers to the Chilean Air Force. The Dutch Defence ministry said the ceremony will take place at the Leeuwarden base when Lex Hendrichs, head of Dutch Defence Material will be symbolically handing his Chilean peer Jorge Rojas a scale model of the US manufactured aircraft.

Galician-Falklands fishing fleet complains about Argentine ‘harassment’ in S. Atlantic

The Falklands/Malvinas dispute between Argentina and the UK is having its effects on the (Spanish) Galician fleet in the Southwest Atlantic, where most of its vessels operating under the Falklands flag are continually being “harassed” by Argentine patrol vessels, reports El Faro de Vigo in an interview with Javier Touza, president of the Vigo Ship Owners cooperative.

China alleges ‘dumping’ and imposes 104% tariff on US chicken imports

The Chinese Commerce Ministry said it would impose a 105.4% tariff on U.S. chicken exports after concluding they were unfairly priced. After a yearlong investigation, China concluded US exporters were selling chicken in China at prices that were lower than the costs of production, a practice known as product “dumping.”

Last airworthy Falklands ‘veteran’ Vulcan bomber running out of funds

The last airworthy Cold War British Vulcan bomber, and 1982 Falklands conflict veteran, could have made its final public flight on Sunday unless its owners can raise £400,000 by the end of October.
