Two Falkland Islands hydrocarbons exploration companies have signed contracts for marine seismic acquisition services with Polarcus Limited. The contracts were announced Thursday and should be operational by early January 2011. Read full article
Nobody seemed to deterr Adolf in 1940....... It took britain 5 years, some sweat and very good friends (Soviet Union, China, Egipt. f ex.) to change the situation.
Operation Sealion...... good fated choice of name... :-)
We did indeed forge some useful alliances during WWII although many came because their own interests were threatened. As a list of 'friends' I doubt I'd have chosen the same selection as yourself.
I do however think that you are right in one respect ... it'll take a good 5 years to discover the true position of the/any oil deposits around the Falklands, and probably much the same again to bring them on-line. That was the experience from the North Sea .... I doubt the South Sea will be any different.
Lets hope that your invasion plans will end as unsuccessful
All down to the RAF think,Argies will not want another bloody nose so are waiting for a divine wind, wont be for lack of trying with all that hot air coming out of BA
Think says:
”Lets hope that your invasion plans will end as unsuccessful as the first “Operation Sealion””
All unluck to you and your mates Sammy Boy.............
Keep it up think, it's almost a tradition now on Mercopress to have you post sarcastic ill wishes on any Falklands venture....and to watch it go on and succeed anyway
:-P

Interesting you mention that our Army isn't called the Royal Army, but I don't suppose you're aware why not.
It's because after the Glorious Revolution of 1689, thanks for reminding us of one of our many important steps towards a full Democracy, something you don't have as yours is flawed.
Has it really been only 4 months? seems like forever.
BTW you shouldn't even try basic humour in a second language, irony & sarcasm are well beyond your grasp, I'd stick to facts if I were you.....ah, come to think of it there's a bit of a problem there too....
l may be wrong but l was taught that the army was not called Royal because of the inclusion of the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry which swore allegience to him and not the ruling King or Queen.

You seem to be quite keen about that old romantic North Sea story.

Uncritical use of past ages technological experiences can get you in an “inexpugnable” position……….. like the Maginot line :-)

The troops in the video are not army, they are marines. Was a joke set up by them because the army kept telling them how easy beach landings were.
