The OCEC willbe born... (Organisation Copper Exporting Countries)
It is like South Americans in a fantasy world, is it going to work like Mercosur the supposed south american free trade zone? Where everyone charges import/export fees, has their own rules and blocks others imports when convenient? Plus without having the largest exporter of SOY (the USA) it's like having OPEC without Saudi Arabia, another meaningless trade group.
Pure Michael Porter´s logic: let´s improve bargaining capabilities by volume in order to retain as much of possible of this market profitability.
And agree with last Hoyt´s.
On agricultural commodities, the bargaining will not be against USA, but taking in account the inscrutable´s strategies. Probably we will work together with the Corn Belt. The game is to obtain as much as possible from chinese development.
