Argentina has sent an expert in storage and humanitarian aid to the Caribbean island of Santa Lucia, recently ravaged by hurricane Tomas. The expert and 20 boxes containing sufficient pills to supply 600.000 litres of drinking water was expected to arrive in the island this week. Read full article

Saint Lucia is a member of the Commonwealth and recognizes Queen Elizabeth II as the head of state, represented on the island by a Governor General.
Argentina does not need to send humanitarian aid to a member of the Commonwealth. There are communities within Argentina itself which are in need of help right now. Still, Argentina chooses to aid Santa Lucia.

And aiding other countries help to advance a self-interested agenda because it boosts soft power.

Citgo, the U.S. subsidiary of state-owned Petroleos de Venezuela SA, renewed a program under which it has provided cheap heating oil to hundreds of thousands of U.S. low-income households in the USA since Katrina in 2005.
The goal this year is to benefit 200,000 American families, the same number as last year.

Citgo is incorporated in the USA, like many US companies they give to poor Americans.

Freddie, You're very sensitive today, that's a common word used in your country...now I know why you enjoyed to travel to Buenos Aires...more specifically to the Rosedal area...is ok to love women only like me, or not like you ...come out of the closet Fred is ok..

Actually it is not a common word and only used by the low born or uneducated like you.
Nov 24th, 2010 - 11:59 am - Link - Report abuse 0I have heard it is very common in Argentina for men to have sex with transvestites. Many guys in BA told me as long as they have long hair and look like a women, who cares! That is not very common in the USA.
How do you think the world knows about Rosedal? It is pretty well known like the Red Light district in Amsterdam! It is not a secret known only to portenos or taxi drivers.
How do you think the world knows about Craiglist and Backpage DC? It's not common here but very common in DC..AND IF YOU WERE OFENDED BY THAT WORD IS BECAUSE MOST LIKELY YOU ARE THAT.
Nov 24th, 2010 - 04:35 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Who says I was offended? I think it is very rude though and not appropriate in adult discussions.

You might be surprised to know that not everyone needs to hunt for sex on the internet.
I think you are just a poor dumb guy trying to have a voice outside of your lonely forgotten country. I feel sorry for you.
I am sure a lot of people know about it and not just for the sexual advertisements. Didn't they(Craiglist, under pressure) shutdown sexual section after the murderer of that girl in Boston?

You are lying especially about the Rosedal what its a park http://www.revistaelabasto.com.ar/El%20Abasto_archivos/Rosedal.jpg and the only one that knows so much about the sexual activity there are people living here trough the media or those who go at night to hunt for sex. So you are not a permanent resident of Argentina (as you live in Washington as you said) so where you there hunting for sex, mate?. Who do you want to cheat?
And who are those who looks for paying for sex in everywhere and drugs? Yes Americans.
You are famous here for that I have American friends so shut up. American women are also sex hunters down here especially in between 25 to 50 years old.
You go to Thailand to get easy sex with teen girls, Brazil, Mexico, etc. You don’t get sex without paying mate. 3% of adult Americans males pays for sex and 1% Americans women pay for sex and according with your own figures (National Survey of Sexual Health and Behavior) US only counts with 1% of population working as prostitutes. You have a 3% deficit my friend and that make you to travel a lot for sex.
Americans are use to pay for everything its part of your culture mate you say 2 words and 1 its about money.
So sex tourism its your perfect vacation for you mate and now you want to give us a class about your high moral?
So stop to be hypocrite mate.
